pinfa input to Construction Products consultation

pinfa submitted input to the European Commission’s public consultation on possible modification or downgrade of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).

pinfa underlined that the CPR harmonisation enables architects, construction firms and regulators to access reliable and comparable information, driving the market towards improved fire safety, and that that the harmonised CPR classifications enable exchange of experience and learning between national and local regulators, supporting improvements in building fire safety regulations and their implementation. pinfa believes “that CPR has brought significant benefits in enabling fire safety and construction quality … any downgrade or repeal would be very negative both for fire safety and for EU industry … supports maintaining CPR and improving aspects of simplification and market surveillance … the EU should also continue to develop harmonised fire safety, smoke and sustainability standards to address the risks of modern constructions and the challenges of the circular economy.”
